We have published a new English case report
describing an inflamed epidermoid cyst of the abdomen
that did not improve with antibiotic therapy.
In this case, the cyst was successfully treated using
the punch excision technique,
even in the presence of severe inflammation.
Postoperative wound care was performed according to
Natsui-style moist wound healing,
without disinfection.
As a result, postoperative pain was minimal,
healing was uneventful,
and no recurrence was observed at 9-year follow-up,
with the surgical scar now almost invisible.
This article may be helpful for patients who have been told
that surgery is not possible due to inflammation,
or whose cysts have not improved despite antibiotic treatment.
